Help and advice needed re: licking

Hi everyone I’m very new to this, my son is 6 and licks most things but we’ve worked out he likes to lick metallic objects such as table legs at school, railing etc are there any aids for him that could help with this, I’m assuming it could be a cold stimulation or just the metallic. Every aid I have seen are silicone and aren’t useful for him. 

  • There was a child in my sons school who used to lick people. My son also asd couldnt stand this and told him many times. I also told the teachers. My son end up hitting the kid after the tenth time of having his cheek licked! 

    I still have sensory mouth type urges but thankfully not people. Mines towels and flannels now a days. I've had to try limit it to flannels as our towels are so tatty. Could you give him a spoon as a compromise? For me it's a huge urge that's hard to shake.
