excluded at seven

Sooo tired fighting the education,  I believe they are being deliberately confrontational to get a reaction from my son.  What can I do if I believe the education are trying to manage my son out of the school.  I have wrote to the governers with my concerns, Head governer is on the teachers side.  I wrote to Head of Education that deal with the statements.  They just want to smooth things over.  I feel i am fighting a loosing battle.

Please help and give me some advice.

  • Hi Fluke

I truly sympthise with your situation, i myself have had run in after run in with the education system. i was left feeling chewed up and spat out by them. i ended up home educating my kids for years, because the schools were just not spending money on my children to give them the support they needed. The stress it was causing to us all in the end wasnt worth it. One of my children is now in a special school after a ridiculous fight for a statement, which im sure we only got because we were extremley fortunate to have a very good psychologist. she is acually quite happy there. Is your child in mainstream or Special School?

I think its really sad that the education system is still  excluding autistic children rather than educating staff to understand and manage the behaviour in a better way. ive seen staff be confrontational in their methods of behaviour management it really dosnt help the situation and frightens kids,no wonder they kick off

Have you contacted your local NAS, try contacting them and tell them about your experience of the education system see if they can help at all, you never know. They may be able to send you in the way of someone who can help. Mine have been brilliant, not in the way that they can make the school do somthing as obviously they cant, but  they are helping me find other families who have been  in a similar situation to ours to enable me to petition my local commisioner to try and improve the support available for the kids in school, and get better educated trained staff in schools.

i hope all works out well for you and your son
