None mint toothpaste

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get none mint flavour toothpaste? My son hates brushing his teeth, the brush hurts, the electric toothbrush makes his nose run and the mint is too spicy! I know the baby toothpastes are fruity flavours but because he's got his adult teeth I do need him to be using adult toothpaste. Any suggestions? Or any recommendations for a homemade recipe?

Thanks in advance.

  • My son uses a lemon flavoured one. It's a very mild lemon made by Colgate. Morrisons sell it

  • Oranurse Unflavored toothpaste link:

OraNurse® is an unflavoured toothpaste specially formulated for people sensitive to strong flavours. It has the daily reccomended fluoride and is SLS free (non-foaming).

oraNurse® unflavoured toothpaste was initially developed in a response to the need of autistic children who have a problem with taste, even to the extent of not liking the taste of water. This has resulted in the development of a toothpaste with no sodium lauryl sulphate (foaming agent) or flavourings but still with the protection of 1000ppm fluoride for children aged 0-3 years and 1450ppm fluoride for children aged 4 years plus and the original adult formula. Other possible indications for the need of an unflavoured toothpaste include; people who simply don’t like the taste of mint or adults and children with learning disabilities where they perceive mint to have a ‘hot’ or ‘burning’ sensation.

  • Thanks for all your help everyone we'll give the suggestions a go :-)

  • Great thank you. I'm going to try them all until we find one which works for him!

  • Fabulous thank you, I'll look into that one! Dentist appointment also in the calendar so I'll chat it through with her then. Thanks Thumbsup

  • Thank you, not sure it will be much more welcome if it tastes medicinal :-) but we have to try!

  • Oranurse has no taste - find it easily online.

  • You can get strawberry/fruit flavoured toothpaste unless you are like me that I resort to non-mint mouthwash instead.  Sainsburys sell Dentyl Active Fresh Clove (as well as other places but not seen it in many other supermarkets).

Also discuss this with his dentist

  • There's one in an old fashioned packet called Euthymol.  The paste is pink but it tastes quite medicinal.
