Hi, my 9 year old son is due to start his ASD assessments. I have to go and complete the 3di assessment and so I'm trying to write down prompts for myself to help with the questions. I have a very specific question about echolalia please. From about ages 4-5, my son always mimicked noises younger kids made, such as whining or crying. He did it next to them and adults, with a smile on his face as if he was making fun of them. Despite repeated attempts to explain why this was hurtful and not appropriate, he continued. He told the nurse at his screening appointment he still does it "because he thinks it's funny", which is the reason he gives for a lot of inappropriate behaviour. I never really considered this to be echolalia but would really appreciate advice please. Thanks
