Hi everyone, if really love some advice on how to help my son communicate with his 7 year old sister. He is 11 (almost 12) and is currently undergoing assessment which the paediatrician has told me is almost certainly ASD. He struggles mainly with communication, particularly in unwanted social situations which results usually in aggressive behaviour and violence. Over the years I have cut off all social activities with friends and even family as it is too stressful. This means that evenings and weekends it's just me and the kids and there is rarely a time we do anything as a family as even that is too stressful. He has admitted to.me that he doesn't know what to say to her, and the paediatrician has said she thinks it's due to his lack of communication skills. So my question is: what activities can we do together to build on this? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to bridge the gap between them so we can have some nice family time together.
