Diagnosed or Not?

Hello all 

This time last year I finally heard from the doctor that my son has high functioning autism and sensory processing disorder. She wrote to me and confirmed this, as he was due to start secondary school in September I sent a copy of the letter to the new school. Since then nothing has happened. Is this normal? I have had to chat to the school a couple of times over various things but they seem reluctant to get SENCO involved? Has he not actually been diagnosed and I have it wrong?

    So is there a proper NHS report stating he has autism?     Do you know what support he needs?   If so, then it might be worth meeting with his school to ask them what they're doing to support him,

    I'm not fully up to speed with current requirements - someone else will have to chip in - does he have an EHCP?
