Hi,
Our 5 year old son was non-verbal up until 2 years ago and since then he very slowly and gradually built up words with the help of Makaton. He is occasionally using sentences but his speech is still delayed.
We have had issues with him being violent for quite a few years now and we thought it was frustration due to being unable to communicate. As time is going on he is more able to communicate his wants and needs etc with us but will still hit, kick, scratch and sometimes bite myself, his dad and his older brother.
Has anyone dealt with this kind of behaviour before, if so, how were you able to manage this?
