Hi
I need some ideas because I am a bit confused what to do in my situation. My son is nearly 5 and in reception at the moment. He's been diagnosed and is on autism spectrum disorder since August 2018. School was informed and started preparations.I was told also still in the process to receive funding EHCP so my son can get extra support.
In past weeks my son started showing challenging behaviour scratching, hitting, kicking other children. School has been trying different approach but today I was asked on phone to take my son out of school for an hour at lunch time because he seems to be more violent at these times. I have advised them that although I am not working at the moment and could help out they can not expect I can do this permanently as I am trying to start courses in college and want to get another job in the future. I have already had few meetings with my sons teachers trying to find reason and help them look for certain things that could set him off but I have a feeling that I do more to try and help and that the school is just trying to get rid of the responsibility. I don't even know where to ask for help. Do you think it's right for school to do this?
