WPPSI test following ADOS assessment... anyone else?

So my son (4 yo) had his ADOS assessment today, his review meeting is in 2 weeks, and we thought it went really well.

when we returned home we had a few missed calls and then the psychologist phoned again mentioning they were wondering if we would be oky with him having a WPPSI (wechsler preschool and primary scale of intelligence) test next week. They explained reasons why and believe he does and says most things through memory and not actually learnt if that makes any sense. Almost that they sussed out he was trying to pull the wool over their eyes also.

has anyone had this test before? I would love some more insight and information.

  • Hi,

I don't have any experience of the test you are talking about but I do know what you mean by the behaviour he remembers a situation/answer so repeats it not actually understanding it. My daughter does this regularly unfortunately for us as she's a bit older it is not helping her get diagnosis! As people are not seeing the difference!

I would say have the test (just my opinion)  as at least it would show what he is understanding and learning at what he is just repeating from memory
