Is this normal???

Hiya all my son is 2 and was diagnosed with asd in October I've jist received a letter saying he has to go for blood tests for loads of things including cgh array and fragile x syndrome is this normal testing for an autistic child or do they think there is more wrong with my son I feel sick since reading the letter ??

Contact the department that sent the letter and ask why he is being sent for tests.

I have come across other parents whos children had these tests to confirm if they were the cause of the autism but I'm not a doctor and am only stating what they said my advice is talk to a doctor

Yeah I'm gonna do i just find it a bit wrong to be asking for the preparation of tests to be done on my boy without even telling me anything about it thanks

You may find its standard testing in your area, I know all hospitals seem to have different policies, and I don't blame you for being worried I would have had a full blown panic attack if I got a letter like that. Good luck

Thanks chick and i no its not ok to spring stuff like that on giù when it hasnt even been discusse before i recieved the letter just freaked me out a bit
