My son is a high functioning young lad who has problems with social skills.
He is playing more and more online and wants to make 'online friends', I have spoken to him about safety and what he should and shouldn't do online.
The problem is he sees all communication from all people online as a friendship, He does not seem to be able to differentiate between online friends and real life friends.
Can anyone offer any help or advice on how to get my son to understand the internet dangers.
All help will be much appreciated.
I have looked into internet safety and given my son some visual safety points to look at... so this has helped a little. Thank you for your kind advice, much appreciated.
I shall continue researching obtain all information I can to help.

No there aren't. :P
thats a good idea thank you
Create fake profiles for him so he can make mistakes that don't trail back to him. Use some well known institution for a telephone number, address and post code (required on some sites) for authentication. Always use an avatar name - never his own.

Facebook is a risk - it's a widely-used bullying tool.
If not they should be able to point you in the right direction
I will look into it. thank you
Some are aimed at others as they are used in my daughters school
A lot of these items are aimed at neurotypical kids....
The nspcc have produced alot of online safety materials aimed at children, they are simple and clear maybe these might help if not they may have specialist advice.
