Council Rejected letter from GP about the needs of my child

Hi there

My 3 year old son was diagnosed with ASD in July. We are in the process of getting all the therapy needed. But at the same we are in temp accommodation. The council has offered us permanent accommodation but it is not suitable for my LO, and turned it down.I have been given 21 days to vacate this temp accommodation. Where do I get help for someone to fight my conner coz we can't stay in the place that has been offered to us.

  • I know councils can evict you if you turn down an offer of accommodation but to normally if it is unsuitable on medical grounds . I would suggest citizens advice bureau or shelter as they should have specialist advice

I know years ago I was put into an upstairs flat ( I suffer mobility problems and stairs can be a problem ) I had to accept the offer or lose my temporary accommodation then apply to be rehoused but that was 20 years ago (not sure where that went)

    Sorry I don't have a better suggestion
