Son 8 suspended

Hi all, my lovely loving son 8 awaiting full diagnosis, (but so far identified dysgraphic, sensory issues, auditory processing probs, receptive language probs, teamed with v advanced reading, high cognitive function but v low processing speed!).Today in break queuing for biscuits was being shoved out of the line and punched the girl in the face. I got a call from the head and deputy head saying he was being suspended till Tuesday to reflect. My thought is that they want to seem like they are doing the right thing for the victim. But they are treating his actions like a choice that a neuro typical child might have. Do I appeal the decision?  Not because I think it ok that my son hit her, but that it is symptomatic of ASD which they are aware of? If anyone has a view I would be grateful. My son isn't clear on the act itself he remembers being pushed out of the queue

  • Hi I'm new to this group. I have a 5year old  grandson and he is yet to be diagnosed. The specialist think he has asd, significant language delay and significant social delay. I've spotted signs of autism in him since he was one and a half years old.  He has a addictive personality. What I mean by that is he likes to watch the same things over and over again. He has the speech of a 24 month old. At the moment we're were going through a difficult time with him , as has behaviour is getting worse. He gets frustrated if he has to repeat him self more than three times, if so he will have a melt down. He has been expelled from school on Thursday just gone. I've tried to get him  in to a speical needs school were there would be sensory rooms for him to calm down in. They won't accept him there as his cognatives are too good. He's very clever at maths. He has isolated himself for about 4 months now in his bedroom. That's why I had great difficulty getting him to school, hes very happy up in his room with peace and quiet watching Netflix. Everything has to be Visualized with Him so now we are using pecs with him to see if he has better understanding. Has anyone else experienced this with their child? Will he  come out of this stage?
