I'm separating with my partner. We both have 9 year old autistic boy. I'm not working and claiming carers allowance. We were claiming tax credit as a couple but obviously once we split I'm claiming as a single parent. I'm really worried because my income will be on benefits only. I would love to work but I'm unable to find one that offer term time only work (schools yes but I'm not qualify). I don't have any family here who can help with child care. Ex works full time and has limited holidays and I don't think he'll be allowed to take time off every school holidays!
My questions are:
Does the result on those calculator includes DLA? I assumed it doesn't because I don't see any mention of it in the calculation breakdown.
I get less for universal credit result but there are some elements (ie.child benefit, council tax support) that will stay outside universal credit. How about the carer allowance, will this be separate from universal credit? again, there's no mention of it in the result breakdown.
Would like to know from anyone had similar situation or already on Universal credit who also claiming DLA and carers allowance please.
