Good Evening All,
My beautiful sons paediatrician explained my son has Autism today after months of me wondering what was happening and tests ect. Were not sure were on the spectrum he is yet he is still being monitored but his paediatrician that he will need to go to a special needs nursery this coming year as he goes to rising threes ( we thought this may of been the case as his private nursery did mention this could be the case) he does not speak and is constantly running, spinning, dancing and jumping. This is very new to me and I'm not to sure were to start I just want to give my son all the extra help I can. My friend suggested this website but is there any other forums or mum groups I can join to make sure I'm doing the best for my boy. I have a new Health visitor coming out soon to give us some advice. Im basically just looking for some extra support from or where I can learn from please.
Hi Col90,
Welcome to the forum. I've attached a few links you may find helpful but please post back if you want any further info.
The following article contains a lot of helpful information about education for a child with an autism:http://www.autism.org.uk/about/in-education.aspx This includes information regarding getting extra support for your child in their education setting.
You can search for schools that cater for children with an autism spectrum disorder on our Autism Services Directory: www.autism.org.uk/directory.aspx
You can also see what services there are in your local area via this link:

Hope you find something helpful.
