Hi Guys
We have recently just come back from living in Australia after 9 months. My son aged 8 who has ASD surprisingly after a couple of months of being out there adapted to the change fairly well.
Needless to say my partner didn't settle hence why we are back now living in England.
My initial thoughts were to put my son in a smaller school with smaller numbers and I had this set up before we headed back, but my son persuaded me to let him go back to his original school before we left which is much larger school.
After being only back 5 weeks the cracks are already appearing. The friends who he was with before he left have moved on and have formed other friendship groups and they seem to be excluding my son.
As a result of this my son is being quite disrespectful to them and calling them names. He doesn't see by doing this he his going to make them distance from him further.
I have made an appointment to see the SENCO worker but I am still of the belief that I perhaps shouldnt have let him go back to that school.
And I am possibly looking to change schools after the school holidays and make a fresh start.
Your views on this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Debs
