  • If you can borrow it from a library, a parents' group, or find it in a bookshop, Tony Attwood (2007) The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome" Jessica Kingsley Publishers, if that applies (you don't say whether Autism or Aspergers) is a good source for answers to questions. He has a website.

There is a little book by Simon Baron-Cohen (2008) Autism and Asperger Syndrome - thefacts series Oxford University Press, tries to explain in brief, and it half the price - I still prefer Attwood's approach

Jackson, Luke (2002) "Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome" is a young person's perspective and can be insightful, but costs half way between the two

Many of us probably first read Claire Sainsbury's "Martian in the Playground - understanding the schoolgirl with asperger's syndrome", just because it hit the nail on the head more than just metaphorically. That's published 2000, many times reprinted Anthony Lowe printer. It deals with all those school issues very effectively.

Hope this helps. Also use NAS website for information.
