Is it professional for a social worker/care manager to be judgemental?

I  used to use cannabis, after I told my social worker (big mistake) as well as continual pestering from her to tell me who I bought it from, she actually said "people who use drugs have something missing from their lives". Well if she has never tried alcohol or any drugs in her perfect life then good for her but what right does she have to judge anyone else? That comment was really unprofessional and uncalled for.

I could say if she wants to live her entire life 100% sober with nothing to make her see things from another perspective then I could say she has something missing from her life, but I wouldn't because I don't judge like she does.

NHS (or are social workers employed by the council?) please employ better people who don't judge their clients whom they are paid to support and help.

  • I think what your social worker said is probably true pew. I read recently a good definition of drugs prevalent in society today which divided them into two groups. Performance enhancing drugs used by athletes and other high fliers to improve their success and performance replacing drugs used by the rest of society to replace a lack of success. Truth is the majority of humans will never reach the dizzy heights of success hence the current  predominance of drug use.
