Username!

Hi all a question for the moderators nothing serious. It has always puzzled me that new members who register have a NAS12345 type of user name.

Maybe a short term thing?

Just wondered how long it stays like that?

why the name they register with doesn't come up?

I didn't notice when I joined if my username was there or a number.

like in the popular series"The Prisoner" "I am not a number".we are not robots or commodities (or are we;)?he he he.

thank you.

  • Having followed the whole thread I am slightly torn on changing my name. There are many points about people not wanting things inferred from their user name etc. and I had given it no thought whatsoever. Now started actually looking at everyones names and seeing a plethora of interesting and cryptic handles. I'm going to do some research and soul searching on this!

lol You're fine as you are! "wornoutinthesticks " is not an option!

  • You have not been lazy, you are communicating functionally and stunningly well if you are doing it all from an IPhone. I love it that here I can drop the self destructive perfectionism. It's more important to say the thing than nit pick it for spelling and grammatical errors. You're all good Misfit, for no fathomable reason you've been in the firing line when offering nothing but helpfulness.

I did surprisingly get that bit! But mine is usually not too bad I have just been too lazy to correct everything as I have typed especially as this keyboard is so small! Pure laziness!

  • Hey missy my comment was general about grammar certainly not aimed at you.I just chuck a full stop if I run out of breather when typing,..,!!) (/&£.

I have dyslexia so any suggestion by anyone about my grammar is going to get my anger.

In fact my iPad makes me seem clever as it corrects all my spelling and even sorts the full stops out ha ha. I also get to read its fore I most sew them is gowd.  .

I'm just exhausted continually getting it wrong and causing havoc wherever I am whilst trying to join in ( cyber and non-cyber). yes let everyone have a discussion and opinion but I keep Landing in the fire. Not been the best of weeks. I'm glad there are people who encompass everyone   try to see all points of view; that is only right. Yes my grammar in this post is awful! We are eager to write at the expense of grammatical structure and spelling!

  • maybe "The Equaliser ". Turns up and defends those who are wronged but tries to be fair while pointing out the error of the wrong doer.

  • Hi missy61 this is my post and therefore I give full permission to go off topic.I like the defender name. I just get overly angry at anyone who sees fit to undermine anyone.regardless of how they do it,for instance I am surprised nobody has started the old"would you please use correct punctuation"rant as it usually crops up.they would have a field day on here lol. I hate bullies and certain comments or polite suggestions to me are just mild bullying. I love this site and hope to stay here, I always try to see others perspective even if they persist in upsetting someone,BUT even I have a limit to intellectual bullying.
