left on this planet to rot...

At 47 I have been diagnosed with autism. I find social interaction very difficult and I'm quite shy, I'm a female living by myself and I hardly see anyone.  I find myself so lonely.  whenever I speak to a professional person about getting any kind of help, all they do is direct me to the NAS (which is helpful) but it doesn't really help me to get out and mix with other people and now I'm losing all hope.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Sorry for sounding miserable.

  • Unfortunatly there is not much support around my area either and I get that lonley feeling aswell it is hard for woman as still in early stages of making sure woman get diagnosed aswell as men....only way I've managed to get tiny bit of help is I talk to the NAS councillor even just the local special needs co-ordinated in your borough/town and ask what's in the area

then if there isent any find out nearest for example for me I'm in Bucks nearest for me Is other side of Aylesbury near London border.....it's a 30-1hr drive on a good day.....I have fought in our area to get more local groups for autism/Asperger's adults/teens because once that age you are on your own unfortunatly and it SHOULDENT have to be like that
