Light it up Blue

Hello all. My mum posted on my Facebook wall about an event called "Light it up Blue" on the 2nd April, which is a day about awareness of Autisim. I was Googled it and come across this website: http://www.lightitupblue.org/Markslist/home.do seems to be an American thing from what I can see, but was wondering if the NAS are aware of any UK based "events"?

  • No its not an American thing light it up blue is a world wide event last year Guildford cathedral lit up blue. Thanks to NAS for being so supportive. If it wasnt for NAS in this country I think autistic people in this country would really struggle because NAS creates awareness I really like NAS.

Hi I only went to grammarly.com (I think it was grammarly.com) to check some written work and saw 'light it up blue' there so went searching out of interest and found your post.  Im not directly linked in any way to autism/asbergers but I do have an interest, so I'll make sure 2 April 'I light it up blue' and let folk know why.  Definately needs more publicity/awareness.  Kind Regards to all concerned.  Georgia  x

  • Hiya,

You might have more luck searching for World Autism Awareness Day - which is how the 2nd of April is more generally talked about.

We're putting together a list of local events that's slowly growing - if people know of anyone organising anything do ask them to email their events to community.manager@nas.org.uk

You can see the page here -
