To quote someone's message, first select/highlight the relevant text, and then use the Quote button that appears
To "mention" someone, type @ followed by the start of the forum name, and choose from the list; that person will get a notification of being mentioned

When I sign in on my smartphone. Sometimes it goes without a hitch.

At other times I get warnings about connection not being private. Or security certificates not being valid.

Should I ignore these warnings?

Is someone trying to hack in for personal reasons?

I think it is just a case that anybody using the inter-nettle can visit and have a read - so not secure or private in that sense. You can perhaps make your smartphone smarter - by changing the security settings to accept this site as permitted.
