Art for Autism - Exhibition in London 17th June

Hello, I’m from a London based group called Orchestrated Acts of Kindness - OAKS and we are currently in the process of organising our next event called Art for Autism. Art for Autism will be an exhibition, showcasing art by people on the autistic spectrum in order to raise awareness and give budding artists the opportunity to make connections and express themselves through their work. Our aim is for those who are part of our project to feel empowered by their participation and to strengthen community bonds.

We believe giving people the opportunity to express themselves through art fosters independence, self-esteem and artistic expression. We hope to raise awareness of the importance of the arts as viable tools for learning, growth and expression; especially for autistic artists and to celebrate their valuable contributions to society.

The exhibition will take place in Brixton (South London) on Saturday 17th June, however the deadline for the art to be submitted will be Saturday 3rd June.

Is there anyone in this group who would be interested in exhibiting a piece of art?

Here is a link to the Facebook event for anyone interested: www.facebook.com/.../

  • Hi, thanks for your message. The whole point is that we want to give people, who would otherwise not consider themselves artists or consider even doing art, the opportunity to try it. Even if it's their first time creating a piece of art.

The exhibition launch will be from 5-9 but the exhibition will still be at the venue until Wednesday 21st June.

We look forward to seeing you at the event. Fell free to share with any friends and family.
