Please help, desperate mother seeking support for her son

My son has been in care for 4 months, and hasnt attended education for over a year as he was removed from a school which could meet his needs due to LA not wanting to fund transport. Anyway to cut a long story short, ive been advocating for my sons needs for years, he is now in care and has a criminal record due to the lack and support of his condition.

Please help me raise awareness to get our children the help they need and sign my petition below

It is awful and really sad to read about stories like yours. This forum often seems to read like war reports rather than messages about a condition that is actually reasonably well understood. One problem is that the understanding of the condition and how to handle it is very patchy.

Has the NAS been of any help in helping you get the services that your son so desparately needs?

  • no sure how i managed to post this twice apologies

  • I've had nothing despite my begs and pleas for help, my son has been in care 4 months and until Friday the social worker hadn't even read his ehcp, infact she asked me for a copy, I've had family interventions come in to my house in the past, but the techniques they offer are your basic which I have tried and exhausted, i myself have attended groups , training days and parenting classes, but some days all my efforts and techniques don't work. He has been totally let down by Sen he hasn't even been at school for a year because the authority wouldn't transport across county when he stayed with family (5miles) instead they put him in a local special needs school who couldn't cope with him put him on a reduced timetable of 2 hours on 2 to 1 support n in 2 months there was 83 incidents and they said they wouldn't have him back. He has been totally let down by everyone and it's just so wrong, all I get is threats from social services that I take him home or they'll take me to court, and as much as I want him home I can't allow my other children to be hurt anymore, I just feel totally stuck n it's so hard

    Signed.

May I ask what support you have been offered in learning how to support and manage a child with autism? There are frequent requests in this forum from parents who often have little idea or training to provide the best home environment for their children.
