Help?

Hello, I only got diagnosed with Autism/Asperges when I was 22 I am now 23 going on 24, I also suffer hugely with anxiety to the point I find it hard to go outside on my own, I am on medication for my anxiety, which is sort of helping, but I am still finding it really hard to get outside on my own, I did get refeared to LIFT pyschology which I have done the group session before and didn't find it helped me, and asked for a one to one, the first one I had, she wasn't to keen on helping me least that is what it felt like to me, but she did give me breathing excercises for my sleep, but she also kept telling me I need to go outside even if its just down the street and back.
Problem being is I feel like that would be rather pointless due to my trane of thought is I have to have a destination or a place I HAVE to be at, not just aimlessly walking around that wont help with my anxiety at all.

My second person from LIFT pyschology, was just as useless as the lady was, he didn't even know how anxiety was linked with Autism/Asperges.

So my question being is, is there any other help like LIFT psychology that is also free, but are more knowlodgeable on Autism/Asperges and Anxiety?

  • I had similar difficulties at your age, and can now manage them. The psychological route left me with the do it myself necissesity,

I went for an environmental accommadation technique which in the first stage just involved getting comfortable with seeing an external environment - whether it be the space outside your residence, or inside.

I spent time every few days listening to well calming music, having a cupper, and looking through the window (and netting) and watching things goings on and by - until the regulum and routine of things seemed interesting when it changed.

I started with the back garden watching animals and so fourth and sunsets and sunrises etc. Then I stood in the hallway for a number of weeks; then on to outside on the front door step; then down the end of path, then walked around the block, and so on and so fourth further each stage.

Twenty minutes a session, or working up to or more, deep gentle and even pelvic breathing, and stage by stage getter the better of it, perhaps.

One friend listens to Binaural Beat stuff on his head-phones wherever he goes - as sorts his anxiety out. That may be option also - distract yourself with music that dissaciates negative brain pattern firing and reassociates positive or at least more blancing states of mind.
