I dont know if anyone else here has had to face this but I have a 16 year old son who has aspergers and ADHD. We have had bullying problems from elementary school all the way up to now. He does not see how his behavior affects others and we have told him over and over but it does not sink in. He went to social skills training, a private school in middle school for this as well but nothing has worked.
He is an honor roll student, holds down two part time jobs, gets up in the morning by himself, etc....although he has the teenager attitude, it is the bullying at school that is concerning me. My 2nd son has a friend who just started at the school and no one knows that she knows my older son and she even made the comment about how the entire sophmore class hates him. We have spoken to the school.....the school has enouraged my son to turn in the kids who are doing this....he would be writing e-mails every five minutes if he did that. I should also mention that my son has a terrible stutter that developed in elementary school,,probably due to stress.
I have now offered him home schooling for his junior and senior year of high school as it is online and he can go at his pace so he can probably finish early. I dont know what else to do at this point. Living in a dorm is OUT OF THE QUESTION so not sure what will happen with college. His only deficit is social skills.....what can I do? How can I help him?
