Deleted posts

If recent thread deletions are by moderators why not inform members of your actions, ideally with a brief statement of the reason. It appears that there is a new swathe of moderators recently, so you may be unaware that this happened before - threads disappearing without even a private message to each contributor explaining. There are community rules. If these are broken, fair enough to uphold the rules, but you should tell people the nature of the infringement too.

Unless a hacker has gone in, though that seems unlikely that they would so selectively remove the 2 threads that I am aware of.

  • Hello,

Thank you for all your responses. I've made notes about the posts which have been deleted and I'll check in with the other moderators. We do have a technical problem which we're looking into with duplicate posts being deleted and I think this might be causing other posts to be deleted. I'll keep you posted.

    Best wishes,
    Alexandra (moderator)

  • You're welcome, thanks for your understanding of our situation. Seems there's plenty of us. I've been advised to write to my local MP about the amount of PIP claims being turned down. I will get to it once I'm in the right frame.

I've accidently deleted your email. I'm new to this. 4 posts are deleted from the community page. I looked in my history and found them there. There's no replys. I was sure I'd be offered at least one piece of advice, but nothing. They are not in the record of latest discussions. Luckily as I no longer trusted my posts staying put and recieving advice, I eventually managed to get thru to citizens advice. That is no easy task when you only have 4 weeks to gain evidence and advice. The time limit is stressful when it's extremely hard to actually see an advisor in person. The CAB advisor told me I hadn't given enough detail in my evidence. My son's had his assesment. I have the mandatory reconsideration with no change, 0 points. The assessors report states my son understood and answered all questions himself. This is a lie. I answered for him. I wrote the description of my son's problems myself. The CAB advisor pointed out so many more problems that I just take for granted. It seems you need to have a degree in English and be articulate, which I obviously do not and am not lol. Had the assessor not lied he should have received points for not being able to communicate without help and points for not being able to engage. Oh well, off to tribunal, what fun, not.

I so know what you mean about official stuff not being fun. I hope it goes well at the tribunal for you and your son though, and that everything works out really well. Thanks also very much for your input about the deleted posts.

My 27 year old son is autistic and we are going to tribunal after DWP denied him PIP. I have received and read some good advice on here. But my posts have been deleted so I was unable to share with others, but at this anxious time was in need of vital advice. I have stopped using this site to ask for help because my posts are deleted.

    Hi Stressgate3,

If you do not mind me asking, how many posts have you found to have been deleted without your consent or without being informed?

    I concur.

Deepthought - I'm glad you joined in, as the thread you mention was one of two that I was aware of disappearing recently without a trace.

Alexandra-mod - the other thread I noticed was called "Is this site really good for mental health" and was started by LilySnape. It was approximately 7.30am on the day that I replied and I think it was Wednesday 11/01/2017. The thread would have been started up to 12 hours before this. There was also one other reply from Random at around 23.40 on 11/01/2017.

    Hi Alexandra-mod.

    Hi Curious,

I also read the thread by Lilysnape you mentioned. I had been meaning to compliment her for her writing ability in the thread "Alone: My personal essay for English" - before she wrote the thread complaining about not recieving any responses, and finding the site-structure restrictive. I was extremely exhuasted and I felt a compliment I had wanted very much to make anyway would help to some extent, and I did this at 07:29 hours on 12/01/2017 - according to the thread record.

  • Hi Curious,

    Hi Alexandra,

Apologies about "butting-in" -  Asperger's Syndrome and all that - as one of the threads was, "Can anyone help? Please" - with three members threads as having been deleted. There was niether consultation nor discussion about this before or after the deletion occured in at least two members cases.

On the day of the deletion, 05/01/2017 - I sent an E-mail at 19:58 hours to the NAS Community Manager, stating as follows:

"In regard to recent comments made upon the subject of "Can anyone help? Please." - all comments made after the initial request have vanished. Is this a technical glitch, or something otherwise?

This report has been made as a supporting statement.

  • Hi Curious,

Can you let me know on which threads you've seen deletions and no comments? We don't as a rule delete posts without letting the community members know about it. But we have had some technical problems when it comes to deleting posts which could have accidentally removed the posts.

    Thanks,
    Alexandra (moderator)
