i was wondering if there is a way to privately write a community member. I tried clicking  on the email on the top right of a profile but it asks for an email address to send which I do not have. Lease let me know if this is possible or if I am dong incorrectly when I try.

  • Thanks for the info.  I understand the privacy issues as there are very few people I have shared my ASD diagnosis with.  There are have been other non ASD groups I have been a part of that helped open up sharing possibilities when there was one on one connections possible and allowed sometimes people to be able to open up to someone they felt comfortable with.  I just wanted to know if that as possible here and now I better understand this community options.

  • I think the no private  comms is a good idea in some ways, tho however if you find a connection with aother member it's possible you might want to share things with them that you might not want to reveal more publicly on the boards. I would like to find ASD friends locally, I think if I had fellow ASpergers friends they might understand me better than  non aspies would. As an aspie sometimes I do feel isolated, tho it seems that I have a concentration of friends in the Coventry, Nuneaton, Birmingham,Wolverhampton , Walsall areas about 55-80 miles or so away. I don't get to meet them often as it's money or lack of. I don't think any are ASD tho some also have mental health problems and understand me.

    No, this isn't possible. There are also rules about not revealing your identity. The rules are designed to protect the sometimes vulnerable adults and teens that post here. You may be able to get the moderators to forward a message to another poster at their discretion.
