Calming down?

Hi

I've just been to my Student Service's office for my appointment on how my issues affect my studies and turns out I had the wrong time and was half-an-hour late. Anyway they have rescheduled the appointment for later today but I can't help but feel angry, frustrated and a little upset with myself for getting the time wrong. I get these feelings now and again when I make mistakes and now I feel agitated and on-edge.

Does anyone have any particular methods they use to calm themselves when they get like this? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • We work very hard to get everything right and to fit in. When we slip up we can be very hard on ourselves.

Remember that no real harm was done, that it was a simple mistake and everyone makes those. Remember too that you have way more to remember and cope with than a neurotypical person. You are doing fine and this was just a minor slip. Nothing bad is going to happen.

Give yourself a massive pat on the back for getting to where you are and chill.
