My new obsession

Dont know if this is the right place for this, but i just wanted to ask

if anyone else has taken an obsessive interest in Autism and had to learn all they can about it?

Since getting diagnosed recently i seem to be reading up everything i can about Autism and Aspergers syndrom. Is this because i can relate to the condition as i have it, and is this a healthy thing to do?

Thank you

  • Yes!  Thoroughly obsessive - ever since I began researching my traits, about a year before my diagnosis (a few years ago).

My main areas of interest are the genetics, misdiagnoses, connections between autistic traits and giftedness, female presentations, the 'bi-gendered brain' and extreme sensitivities.  I've developed my own theories, which so far I've not seen published elsewhere.
