ASCOSS -

Please could we have a report/article put up on the website on the ASCOSS team as I have come to notice that nearly NOONE has any idea who and what Ascoss is/does.

I live in North Yorkshire and Ascoss plays a vital role in helping our children in their school settings. They also attend our autism support groups so we can speak to them directly and in person regarding any and all problems we encounter regarding our children and their autism.

Please could more information be made available to all about ASCOSS.

They attend the Access To Autism group which is held at the following address:
1 The Broadway
Colburn
Catterick Garrison
North Yorkshire
DL9 4RF
You can phone them on the following number to find out when the next session is on. It's held on either the first or second Wednesday of the month. I just can't remember when it's on this month.

I live in North Yorkshire too, but I didn't know ASCOSS attend support groups. Can you tell me which one(s) they go to?

Hi Wendy,
Looking into the Autism Spectrum Condition Outreach Support Service, it seems this is a local service, with other similar services that are based around the UK.

The provision for outreach seems to be dependant on local funding - which may explain why the service isn't discussed on a national level through the website.
What I can do is speak to our web publishing team and our Information Centre and see if there's anything we can do to create a single landing page to highlight all outreach services across the UK, as a simple page, in addition to local entries in the directory.

I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know more.
