Thinking about getting back in to art

i had always be into drawing when i was young but i felt i couldnt move on from sketching with lead pencils to paint because i am colourblind and i have been nervous of using colours but i have always wanted to paint but i think the reason i have been put off was when i was young i coloured in a map of the world purple and brown and that was in school so it didnt go unoticed. has any else had a loss of interest in a hobbie that they really liked.

    Apparantly, Picasso and Constable were believed to be colour blind (they did ok).

    lostmyway, mentions drawings.  I love M S Escher - have a look at his work, they are generally pencil, no colour just black and white.

    We talked about being active, hobbys are also great to help with depression.  Art is so amazing.  Just because you cannot see it as others do, does not mean it is wrong.  Look at Van Gogh, he painted vibrant colours of work that people hated at the time I don't think he sold one! (personally I still do hate them), but they now sell for tens of millions.  Paint what you see.  If you want to paint a purple and brown map, then what is wrong with that? Look at Andy Warhol, do you think he cared what people thought when he made his soup and Marylin pictures? 

    Art is what you want it to be, not what someone tells you it should look like!
