Borderline and looking for support !!

Hi all,

We have been told that our 8 year old is borderline and cannot be labelled but has 'something'.

I don't know anyone with asd and am wondering if you have to belabelled/diagnosed to join support groups?

If not does anyone know of any in Flintshire?

Any help appreciated x

  • it might be an idea to contact your local child development centre or speical school who mayhave information about support groups.  If not...ask your GP to find out.  You do not need a diagnosis to access support groups...these are usually run by other parents wanting to support each other.  Even if your child does have autistic tendancies which are not labelled, he/she can still learn to live life as typical children do.....you just need to be more explicit in your teaching him/her things.  Never assume he/she will just get it...explain and explain.....then they will get it.....absolutely:-)
