I thought to give everyone an idea of how ASD/Autism affects me, so below is a list of my autism traits, it would be great to meet more people with similar traits and to hear how your autism affects you so feel free to share!
1)Eye Contact (I can make eye contact with people I trust-0.1% of people my mum, dad and 2 of my friends- but the other 99.9% of people I really struggle making eye contact with)
2)Social Interaction (gives me tremendous anxiety)
3)Shouting and loud noises scare me
4)I get distracted/overwhelmed by too many sounds at once
5)I don't understand emotions
6)I take some things too literally (e.g- if someone was to say "I hate my son" I would believe they do)
7)I have narrow/ very few interests
8)I have an eye for detail
9)I find it difficult/can't explain things
10)I struggle to read peoples faces and emotions
11)I can't read between the lines
12)Have specific sensory interests (e.g-weighted blankets, tangles, soft things, sensory toys)
13)I can't put myself in other peoples shoes
14)Change scares/upsets me
15)I am often the last to understan the point or the joke
