SPITTING

Hello everyone,

its my first post am a bit nervous ! Ha dont be nervous ,

I am very worried about my son he has been spitting for the past six months sometime he goes on for days without spitting and sometime he will spit constantly i will always say stop it but he just carries on as if i have not said anything.

I am very concerned as he starts reception this comming september any advice please

    Are you aware of any particular triggers ? Is he angry ? anxious ? is it at the beginning of the day getting ready ? the end of the day when tired ? with a particular teacher ? etc

    It might help to keep a little log of it & see if there's a pattern or trigger. It might then be possible to give him another focus at that time, maybe a stress toy, a fiddle etc. & keep repeating (when calm & able to talk) that it's not acceptable whilst praising the good stuff.
