Telephones

I phone radio station to request a song they play the call back on air and invite callers to phone in guess what I am saying to win a T-shirt

I once answered a call for one of my sister's friends. He then tells his friends to "phone ****'s wee brother when you know she's not in and listen to her wee brother on the phone". Scottish fucking scum.

Samaritans (among others) have hung up on me.

Been asked directly if my hoax is a call.

So now I don't ever speak on the telephone to anyone except family and I never speak into intercoms.

  • Regarding the radio station, either complain yourself or if you don't feel confident about that, get someone to complain on your behalf to Ofcom (link below).  It is quite outrageous that the radio station should use you in that way:

There are always those who will make fun of people for being different and it is very hurtful.

I myself hate the telephone.  I always have my landline on answer phone, and if I don't recognise the number (I have caller id enabled) I will let it go to the answer service.  I can then monitor the caller and only answer it when I know who it is and is a genuine call.  I hate making calls, it turns me into a gibbering fool and I forget what I want to say or not put it in the best way.  But I have never suffered in quite the same way as you.

That's awful. :(  I also hate using the phone and will typically refuse to do so even if it is to my own disadvantage but I've never experienced anything like that, I've only had my own nervousness and befuddlement to contend with.

Some people can be real arseholes.  It's scant comfort that everybody else will think they're arseholes too.
