Hello

Hi all , im new on this site ....and I'm on here for a reason.

My son is thirty years old, and up until my company asked me to do an autism / aspergers course (we thought ...he had mental health issues.)

he has been diagnosed with mental health issues , though hasn't taken medication for a year.

anyway , to cut to the chase , he plainly isn't  , hes autistic but he's very able , he lives alone and cooks and cleans etc.

But he is lonely ...he needs to meet people and take part in activities , he's very physical ...he's doing a small marathon for "mind" at some point in the future , he visits the gym every day and works volountary once a week ...plus he helps me on my allotment and he helps his dad labouring sometimes.

He has expressed that he needs a girlfriend...or just a friend to socialise with.

Any suggestions I would be very grateful  .

There are some groups for adults with AS to meet up. Have a look on this site to see if there are details of any near you.

There is also a site called "Aspie Village"  where people with Aspergers chat online and sometimes arrange meet ups.

I think it would be useful for him to join these sites.

    All the best
