Comics

I'm currently writing my Masters dissertation for Comic Studies and wanted to know how popular comics were in the autistic community. I think reading comics can be really helpful and enjoyable for individuals with autism and I just wanted to speak to anyone who has an opinion on the subject.

  • Hello Paul1964, I responded to your previous post with an apology. I had not realised that what I had written would be interpreted as patronising, that was not my intention. However the more I analyze my phrasing the more I think that you regard it as patronising because you do not hold comics in high esteem. Would I be correct in assuming that? Do you consider comics to be infantile? I find comics helpful and enjoyable. They can also be rigorous forms of literature and deal with complex philosophies. I was asking for positive comments from individuals who enjoy reading comics, if that does not include you then why did you respond?
