Hi my son age 11 has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and he constantly hungry and this can cause him to have a meltdown. can anyone advice me if this is connected to his condition and advice please. Thanks

It may or may not be connected. After all if we are running out of energy then tired things start happening and for your son in the shape of a meltdown, so even if not scientifically connected it real enough for him. I remember reading once on a totally unrelated page for advice with people with Non Hodgkins.... (a friend had just been diagnosed with it at that time) to eat five small meals a day rather than our usual 3 and a snack. It can be healthy meals, veg and that he will actually eat. But just little and often. It might work.... He wouldn't be putting any weight on done right as it be same amount in the end just little and often. Perhaps drink more water too..... It may or may not High energy foods that are kind to the body like bananas are good. Mars bars are unkind because whilst they give a good energy boost it don't last very long. Where as bananas last longer and don't deflate as rapidily. Try different things and of course with in mind to what he will actually eat. :-)
