How do you cope with going to the shops?

I dislike visiting the shops. It's noisy, bright, busy and people talk to you. 

I find it difficult going through checkouts because I don't like making eye contact and I don't do small talk. I try to go through the self service checkouts, but then they bleep and the worker has to come over the fix it and they chat to you anyway.

     I love going shooping with my Mum. But i aways find that people are rude to me.  They tut and sigh and sometimes push me out of the way.  I have autism and find brightlights coupled with noise, the bright colours of product packaging and he rush of people overwhelming.  It is like some kind of carnvival in a nighmare. 

    Sometimes mum says that man was so rude to you but i do not see it.  I feel ike i need to go around wearing a badge or t-shirt that says I AM AUTISTIC in big letters so people understand!
