Start of a new journey

im very happy to meet you all

my daughter is currently undergoing assessment for child development and people undertaking the assessment have discussed The potential for my daughter to have autism. Shes a beautiful girl.  I'm scared. I see a potentially scary future full of a lot of uncertainty. My little lady is a very quiet and introvert girl who is not able to talk.

I see a unique little lady in a private world.  I have no idea what she thinks or feels.

I don't really know anyone who has experienced this. I don't know what to do, say or even feel on some occasions. I was hoping to reach out but wasn't quite sure how to do this.

    Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forum. I hope we can tackle some of your worries.

Autism is a description that applies across a vast spectrum of people. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 56. Diagnosis has provided a key to the puzzle that I seemed to be locked inside. Diagnosis can really help to unlock someones potential and open doors that would otherwise be closed.
