Separate forum/community for autistic adults ?

Hi

Recently the suggestion has been made that a separate forum of community is needed for Autistic Adults.

I would welcome thoughts, comments and ideas on this subject.

Starter questions:

Q: Is there a need for "another" community when others exist online?

Q: Is the NAS the best organisation to fascilitate this?

Q: Could it be self-managed but just technically supported by the NAS?

Q: Should it be "part" of this community or completely separate?

Regards

  • Perhaps not a seperate forum as such but a 'room' or a few threads where those under 18 can post in there and all adults will know they are under 18 because of posting there. It hard to tell an age of someone here unless they are talking about school as opposed to work.  I think just a seperate discussion place under the same forum and it unites us then.  Plus allows those parents and carers posting about their chldren to still access our input may be. I think there should be more not division but more clearer before a post is being opened up wether it a parent/carer poster or a person on the ASD is posting. That be more useful as there is so much information out there anyway for parent/carer's but hardly any for the newly diagnosed adult or adult and the tranistion from childhood to adulthood. Must be harder for some. All of which can still be managed by NAS just have a few more 'rooms' or 'threads' for these divisions as such.
