Another bad day

I am really strugglin with things, I have my PIP interview Tommorow, but my have problem with my car. Trying to sort out the car really stresses me out massively, every time MOT takes a lot out of me.

Had a really bad drive home, went a different route to buy some stuff off gumtree. Stuff I have been obsessive collecting. They were really good price, I spent time reaserching my route and checking it out. I managed to get there got hold up in traffic. Got right outside their house, and had a really hard time with myself whether to buy them as my Father has been getting on at me for collecting things. I turned away in the end, but felt bad.

Then I got stuck in traffic, waiting for nearly half hour. I heard my car get louder, and knew there was a problem. The other lane was tons of traffic, I just paniced, turned back to find my way home, had to go for miles. Then there was really heavy fog, and could hardly see in front, with someone tailing me all the way.

Finally got car in garage, and checked, the exhaust is broken. Had it replaced not so long back, and spent a lot of money on a stainless steel one, which should have lasted a long time as I don't do much mileage. Found my receipt, and it is just out of warranty.

Just stuff like this seems to be getting harder and harder as I get older. I have a couple of problems with pensions, I need to get my complaints submitted to ombudsman in next week or so. I just have not had enough spare time to fit anything in.

  • Thanks for your reply,

My PIP interview went ok, but is almost impossible to get across the difficulties you experience in such a short time. The PIP form and process is clearly geared to physical disabilites which are easily observed so a tick box can be checked.

I got my results through yesterday, I received the standard rate for general living. I was expecting some for mobility and it is a massive struggle for me to plan and follow trips out to anywhere I am not familiar with on a regular basis. I have to make maps and cross reference these to visual clues. I also have to find out wording on signs (google street view) and make sure I cover every slightest ambiguity. I have to avoid/abandon many trips I would like to do because it just gets too much for me, even trips I have already booked and paid for tickets.

Today is a bit better, having problems with neighbours.

  • Wow, just take a deep breath

Bad days happens to us all. I find it useful before leaving the house to write down a 'to do list'. It helps. You know, a contact list for taking the car to the garage, prices, shops i will visit. This may help you.

Also, you may gain support if you contact your local GP or library. They may have some contact list of support you can gain.

    Best of luck
