Website front page

Hi,

I've posted this in an alternative topic, however I feel that it may be helpful for the site front page to have a 'news' ticker, rather than just a twitter feed. Alternatively, could the twitter feed show more than just the most current 'tweet'?

It is immediately obvious that the NAS twitter feed is regularly updated, and so I feel that this would indicate to any user accessing the site via the front page that the NAS is active within the community.

I will note that I am accessing the website via a PC/laptop, and so am biased towards these platforms, however I feel that the current layout of the front page is not ideal. It appears to be attempting to emulate such websites as MSN and the BBC, but without informative the informative headers present on these sites (i.e. the large icons allowing access to site areas appear to be placed/selected hap-hazardly rather than in any clear order). My suggestion would be to organise  the icons by user type (i.e. professional, carer or affected individual) and then by most commonly accessed website area. E.g.: professionals would most likely be most interested in the up-coming conference, but may also be interested in accreditation, carers would be most interested in care strategies and help services, and affected individuals/non-professional carers may be interested in social groups, help services and want access to more information.

Note that my observations/ inputs are singly based on my opinions, and so are not an objective measure of website accesibility.
