Our daughter, who is 29, has a habit of pulling out her hair one hair at a time and ends up with large bald patches on her scalp. Does anyone else have this problem and would be glad to hear from anyone with ideas on how to prevent this.

It becomes a struggle once it goes beyond a stim to a compulsion
they are stims, they are predicatable and help to focus,I do many stims for many differant reasons some for anxiety, some for pleasure some for compulsion,.they are are a need , a must without stimming i would go insane
can i make a link between this and the excessive biting of fingernail? they both often happen due to hyper nervousness and lack of control. the solution may be in stabilising the mood and securing the atmosphere, helping them feel free and powerful and independent
