not talking or babbling

my 14 month old does not talk or babble she just screams and moans. she makes eye contact and reacts when call her she plays with toys but not for long she would sit for hours if let her watching mickey mouse.there's not other children in my family for her to interact with am so worried about her every day am over reacting or this sound like that there is something wrong 

  • From my experience there's more to autism than just not talking or babbling. i knew something wasn't right from about a year he had no eye contact, didn't respond to his name, no babbling or talking, no hand gestures, didn't want to be with other children, kicked off at certain things. He also arm flapped which he still does now, constantly runs back n forths spins round in circles, hates anything on his head including hair cut, he lashed out at adults and children. He also turned and decided he didn't want to attend the playgroup I use to go too and use to kick off when use to go in there when there was a lot of children. He got referred at 18 months and was diagnosed at age 2. He still doesn't talk now or hand gestures and he's 4 this month. 14 months is very young though if it's just the no talking or babbling and there's no other signs then I wouldn't worry too much.
