Hi, I'm James and really need to make friends with uk people plea

Hi my names James I'm new here and really need to make friends with people in the uk who hopefully live near the Birmingham area or not too far from Shrewsbury plea

I'm very lonely and find it very hard to make friends and I really need to make friends who understand and who will accept me for me I have Aspergers Syndrome and sadly my family live far from me an very rarely see/visit me plus my stepfather makes it very hard for my Mum to visit me or even talk to me on the phone and it leaves me feeling very sad and very lonely

Lots of nasty things have happened to me in my life and sadly very few nice things/experiances So I am roughly 17yrs old on the inside but physically I am 28yrs old because I've been verbally and mentally with some physical abuse since the age of 4yrs old till I managed to leave home an go into a hostel an finally get my own flat

I really need to make friends with people who have brothers or sisters with aspergers syndrome or are friends with someone like myself and who would be willing to possibly be my friend ? Plus I'd also like to make friends with people who also have aspergers syndrome or who are just normal but kind people

Hope there are some nice people out there who live in the uk who are willing to poss be my friend and chat plea ?

Thanks for everyones time

  • Hi James

Welcome to the forum and thanks so much for posting. You are obviously having a really tough time at the moment.

I have posted a link below for the NAS helpline.  If you ring them they will be able to provide you with advice and support and also give you details of support groups in your area.

    www.autism.org.uk/.../Autism-Helpline.aspx

May be you could post a bit more information about yourself such as what you do and what your interests are.  You are obviously feeling very alone and need some one to talk to.  There are lots of people on the forum who would love to chat with you and I will be the first to start!

I have two children aged 19 and 17, the eldest one has Aspergers.  He has certainly brought a whole new awesome perspective to our lives although it has not always been easy.  He has now gone to university and is living away from home for the first time.  I also have a couple of friends who have Asperger's.  I enjoy films especially animated films such as Happy Feet (basically films where you don't have to think too much!!) and keeping fit, although at the moment I seem to eat more chocolate than exercise and I need to be a bit more disciplined.  What do you like to do?

Please tell me a bit more about yourself and remember that we are all here to help you and there are loads of us that would love to chat and be friends

I look forward to hearing from you.
