New introductions discussion or a whole area?

Hi all,

We're having to close our current introductions discussion as it's length is causing issues with our current server set up. Without the resources to improve this we have two choices -

Either we start a new discussion, so one place where everyone introduces themselves

or

We add a new section for introductions seperate from general discussions, where new users can start individual discussions to say hi.

I'd be happy with either choice but I'd rather have your feedback then decide on our own.

So feel free to reply here - new discussion or a whole new area for introductions?

  • Hi, I hope someone reads this today/tonight. I am a new caregiver to an 8 year old girl with autism and I’m looking for advice on how to make it a smooth introduction and transition. I meet her Tuesday at 5pm pacific time.

I know her parents will fill me in, but I’d like to be prepared to make a safe and likable impression on her. She’s a patient that I really hope to keep long term. What if she hates me? New things are hard for everybody but a disruption in her normal routine really has me at a disadvantage. Any tips?
