swimming lessons for autistic child in stoke on trent area

hello 

i was wondering if anybody had any information on swimming lessons for children with autism in or around the stoke on trent area, i have searched the internet with no luck as yet??

  • Hi Piera, Have you tried the classes at your local pool? Is there a reason why your child cannot learn to swim with NT children, with perhaps a quiet word with the teacher to explain that he/she is autistic. Most children with autism go to main stream schools, so why not swimming? You could perhaps take your child to the pool, beforehand, to make sure there are no problems with noise, or crowded changing rooms and to familiarise him/her with the environment.
