Consultation Group

What has become of the consultation group? Is it defunct or just in limbo for want of discussions.

I notice it is still explained in the introduction to the community - but must puzzle anyone registering to become involved, or maybe that is no longer possible?

  • Hi Longman,
Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
You are right the "consultation" group is in "limbo" - as you put it. The intention was to maintain this group to feed in suggestions especially when we are planning developments to the community. Our capacity to support the group and undertake developments has however been limited recently. We only have one SM manager to look after the Community and all NAS Social Media. The huge growth in SM activity in the last couple of years has had an impact - overall positive for the NAS.
Things are on the change however and we are actively exploring redeveloping the Community on a new platform (mobile friendly etc) in the next 18 months. Our intention is use revive "consultation" group to help us with the design of the new Community. So watch out for more information about this.
Your point about the Community and professionals is a interesting one. The focus of the Community is and always has been peer to peer and will remain so, but I understand your point about the content being of interest to professionals. We do flag up discussions to our website editors and internal teams when we see something of interest but we don't have a formal way of bring this content to the attention of professionals in Network Autism.
I will take up this point with the manager of Network Autism and discuss how we might improve this.
Finally thanks for your contribution to the community which has I know been appreciated by many people.
    Take care,
